The church has significant counter-façade cracks. The position and type of lesions indicate that, due to the horizontal thrust of the vaults on the facade and the absence of a pitch diaphragm that acts as a restricted at the top, the kinematics for overturning the facade outside the plane have been activated. The design intervention involves the implementation of two longitudinal tie rods in order to counter this kinematics in place and in order to reduce the seismic vulnerability of the building. The tie rods will be located at the attic level at an altitude of about 14.70 m from the internal floor. In addition to structural deficiencies, the church has serious problems of humidity and water infiltration from the wooden roof. To solve the problem of humidity due to capillary rising which has seriously damaged the lower part of the perimeter masonry, we will proceed with the creation, along the perimeter of the church, of an aeration shaft. The internal ventilation, originating from the presence of the aeration grids of the axle, will allow the evacuation of humidity. Even large portions of the internal vaults are affected by chalking and detachment of plasters and efflorescence, caused by humidity. The state of conservation of the frescoes will be monitored and the need for an intervention will therefore be assessed or not.
