Structural Consolidation of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Duomo di Rovato

Studio Lodrini oversaw the structural consolidation of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, located in the center of Duomo di Rovato, the most populous district of the town. The building, with its Greek cross layout and neoclassical façade, showed significant structural issues, including cracks and detachment of plaster.

The project, designed with minimal invasiveness, was preceded by an in-depth technical analysis and a localized vulnerability assessment. The intervention included the consolidation of masonry, reinforcement of the vaults, restoration of the façade, and improved anchoring of architectural elements.

Engineer Alessandro Lodrini led the project, focusing on structural safety while preserving the church’s historical and artistic value. Technical solutions were chosen to be effective yet respectful of the original architecture. The work was partially funded through the “Beni al sicuro” grant from the Cariplo Foundation, with support from the Diocese of Brescia.

Thanks to this intervention, the local community has regained a safe, structurally sound, and fully accessible place of worship, preserving its cultural and spiritual significance.
