Renovating: A Good Opportunity to Save

Dentro casa 06 2015

Energy retrofitting represents a valuable opportunity to improve building efficiency while benefiting from substantial tax incentives. Interventions that reduce energy demand for heating—such as thermal insulation, window replacement, and the installation of solar panels or low-consumption systems—can benefit from deductions of up to 65% of the expenses incurred.

Spending limits vary depending on the type of intervention: up to €100,000 for overall building improvement, €60,000 for works on the building envelope and solar shading, and €30,000 for biomass boilers. Payments must be made via traceable bank transfers that include the tax information of both the payer and the contractor.

To access the bonus, proper documentation is required: a technical report and an energy certification or qualification, to be submitted to ENEA within 90 days of the project’s completion. Some interventions, such as window or system replacements, no longer require these documents or prior communication to the Revenue Agency.

A thoughtful approach to energy retrofitting not only leads to savings but also contributes to a more sustainable and comfortable living environment.
